RISM Annual Report 2023-24

Napolean Hill has rightly said that strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.  Rangolians, are committed for both.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to our 8th Annual function this evening and to present the Annual Report of Rangoli International School, Mehsana for the year 2023-24.

Its celebration time for the RIS Family.  Celebrations of our accomplishments raise our awareness of what we have done so far. I am going to share with you all what we achieved in this session.

RIS, Mehsana, prepares students to be a future ready citizen through its research based four-petal teaching pedagogy in a sustainable and scalable way.

• The first petal of our pedagogy is Academics: Academics has been and will always remain in the forefront of our school’s functioning. Students of all grades have shown satisfactory improvement in academics.
  • Our 3^rd batch of Grade-X appeared in SSE in 2023 and achieved a 100% result. Mast. Ravi Kumar is the topper of the batch.
  • Our 4^th batch of Grade-X is ready for upcoming SSE which will start from 21 Feb 2024.
  • Rangoli Assessment pattern and evaluation system helps all the learners to achieve their maximum potential. Other than conventional Periodic Tests & Term Exams, we have introduced Unit Tests in this session which shows a very positive impact on students learning and their achievement.
  • Monthly Group Projects allows students to collaborate & work with their friends under teacher’s guidance. They take an idea, convert it into a presentation or model with facts & data.  The group then presents the project in front of teacher and other students.  We consider the parents, as the best friend and collaborator of a child in formative age thus students of Gr-1 & 2 are continued with home project.  Special thanks for the parent’s involvement.
  • Regular PTMs are platform for the parents to stay updated about their child’s progress and areas of improvement.
  • We provide experiential learning opportunity to the learners through various hands on activities, visits to places and situations for learning by doing. Our students visited Gurudwara and temples to do Sewa & cleanliness, worked at clothes-stores, restaurants & super-stores to understand their operations.
  • This year our School’s Edubition was based on theme “17-SDG goals” which is also the theme of our today’s event. Edubition is an opportunity for the students to turn innovative ideas into realities.  They make various scientific, mathematical, and social science models, charts and present other information to the parents and guest in an interactive manner.
  • Various educational visits were conducted by the school for the young learners. Our students visited Sripriya Masala Udyog, Anantam nature park, Gandhinagar and Nadabet Indo-Pak border where they witnessed various displays and flag-retreat parade by BSF.
  • The school conducts Olympiads in different subjects along with “Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi”. This year, we have conducted GK Olympiad, English, Science and Math Olympiads in this session.  Our students participated in these and won gold medal of excellence.
  • School Council election has held followed by investiture ceremony. This process not only allows students to choose their leaders but also helps them to understand the election process, the democracy and its merit-demerits.
  • CCA are integral part of RIS academic system when students get wide opportunity to participate in scholastic and co-scholastic activities. Winners were felicitated with certificate of achievement.

• PE and Sports is our next petal and key area of excellence:
  • Mass Drill, Physical exercises and yoga are the part of our physical education RIS gives equal importance to health and mental well being.
  • Apart from outdoor sports like Kabbadi, Taekwondo, and Kho-Kho, we have adequate indoor sports activity such as Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis and Yoga. I/h house games were promoted to build team spirit.
  • This year we have conducted sports day at ONGC Ambedkar Stadium. This day long grand event was conducted for K-10 students together.  Students took part in various individual and team events and finally Shakti house has emerged as winner and receives championship trophy from our chairman.

• For the first time, our students of RIS, Mehsana has participated in any CBSE sports event. Three of our students went to Ahmedabad to take part in CBSE U-14 Chess Tournament.  They gave a tough fight to their opponents who were national rank players.  Keep striving kids, success will come surely one day because प्यासे जो चल पड़े हैं तो दरिया भी आयेगा……
• Every year we are celebrating International day of yoga, since its inception. All our staff and students, performs yoga together as per official guidelines.  Parents and locals are always welcomed in this initiative.
• In the upcoming Khel Mahakumbh-2024, more than 250 students have already registered in 10 different sporting events. This is supposed to begin from 10 Jan 2024.
• First-ever statewide Surya Namaskar Maha Abhiyan was conducted by Gujarat govt. in which 30 boys and girls from our school took part at taluka level. Four of them qualified for next level.
• SGFI Games: 7 students took part in taekwondo event conducted by SGFI. Out of which Purv Patel qualified for state level.

• Lets talk the third petal, ie Life Skills:
  • RIS, introduce Robotics and AI in the time-table to develop the scientific and technological temperament amongst students. These subjects are the demand of the hour.
  • Work Experience classes provide an opportunity to develop skills such as cookery, craft, house-hold repair, stitching, plantation etc.
  • Reasoning classes help students in understanding a complex problem and how to resolve it.
  • Guest lecture were conducted by the professionals from different walks of life. The doctors, lawyers, dieticians and social workers were invited to talk and share their experiences with our students.
  • Our vital component in the entire school’s functioning is our faculty. We offer them various teachers training programs. You will be happy to know that
    • School provides Induction training and Mid-term training to all the teachers.
    • CBSE trainings were conducted in the school every year for the teachers of RIS. This year we have conducted CBP on 9 Dec. 2023 on the topic: “Learning outcomes & Pedagogy”.
    • Leadership forum was organized by the management to create more educational leaders.
    • On 18 Dec. 2023, CBSE’s resource person conducted a “Financial Literacy Program” for our teachers. Coming 20^th January, few of our teachers will attend CBSE training on “Life-Skills” at RIS, Gandhinagar.

• Humanities, the 4^th petal:
  • We teach Value Education through preach and practice method. Apart from teaching moral-value-based stories through books we also encourage them to practice those value in real life.
  • Every month we declare one student from each class as a “Student of the month” and one class of the school as “class of the month”. This helps in the pursuit of becoming better and brings healthy competition among students.
  • School celebrates a plethora of festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Dusshera, Diwali, Christmas etc. with colourful events and musical performances.
  • Apart from normal assemblies, school also conducts special assembly to observe special days such as Earth day, Environment day, Gujarat foundation day, Labour day, Yoga day, Kargil Day, Doctor’s Day, Teachers day, children’s day, independence day etc.
  • We try to develop human values through special initiative like “Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava” through which we motivate our students to absorb good values.
  • Joy of Giving: Our students learn empathy by donating clothes, books, toys and eatables that are distributed among poor and needy ones. We are thankful to the parents for joining hands in such social cause.
  • Super Saturday is a day of activities with academics. Students are involved in Art activities, Gardening, cleanliness and Shramdan activity.  On Saturdays, students get an opportunity to join one skill activity of their choice.  They will continue this activity for one session and will try to be skillful in the same.

• Other Activities and achievements:
  • This session begins with the success of our girls group dance team, who won “Inter school folk dance competition”. This was conducted by ONGC Bengal Cultural Association.
  • RIS, Mehsana was recognized as “Best Career Oriented School of 2023” by NSA.
  • The principal receives “Top 100 Principals of Gujarat” award at Grand Hyatt, Ahmedabad by EU media.
  • A core group of parents and teachers team, called PTA is formed that will suggest positive initiative for the school.
  • Our school is the venue for music exam conducted by “Mahagujarat Gandharv Sangeet Samiti”. Many of our students have successfully completed their course whereas many were still pursuing.
  • Our school is the venue for Gujarat Govt. Art exam(Chitrakam pariksha): Around 115 students registered and few passed this exam with 100% marks.
  • Our school conducted AISSEE-2024 successfully for the 2^nd time on 28-01-2024.

Ending my report, | would like to state that we will always strive to give the very best and befitting educational experience to our students.  All this would not be possible without the incredible support & guidance of our Director (Acad.) Ms. Anamika Anjaria.  It is her faith and inspiring presence that is taking RIS, Mehsana to greater heights.

I hope you will appreciate the performances of this evening and take back beautiful memories of this special occasion.  I also seek the blessings of the almighty on each guest and on each member of RIS, Mehsana.
